Bison Management Corporation (BMC) is a licensed, privately-owned recruitment and placement company based in Manila, Philippines. Since 1983, BMC has successfully deployed many highly-qualified Filipino professionals and skilled workers throughout the world - in neighboring Asian countries, Middle East, Europe, USA and NZ. Cross Country Recruitment Limited has been dealing exclusively with Bison Management Corporation since October 2014, bringing quality staff to New Zealand to meet the employment needs of employers here in New Zealand.
As our available candidates are based on the other side of the world, it is necessary for us to have an agency based in Manila to facilitate the processing of candidates to ensure efficiency is met on every placement. We pride ourselves on the service we provide to NZ employers, and this relationship with BMC allows this process to be streamlined. BMC does everything from sourcing candidates, checking references and employment history, arranging interviews, accumulating documents, translating, liaising with candidates and arranging deployment.
A very important part of the deployment process is to gain an Overseas Employment Certificate (OEC). This is only possible through an accredited agency or employer. The OEC is a requirement under the rules and regulations of the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) to help ensure that overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) are properly documented and protected. The OEC, sometimes also called the “exit pass,” is required to be presented to international ports of exit in the Philippines as proof that the holder is a bona fide OFW.
Accreditation from the POEA is not an easy task. It involves the grant of authority by the Administration to a foreign principal/employer to recruit and hire Filipino workers through a licensed recruitment agency for overseas employment. Cross Country Recruitment and Bison Management Corporation have a bilateral agreement enabling us to deploy filipino workers under the guidelines set by the administration. Our process begins and ends with willing candidates and bloody good employers.
We start by sourcing outstanding candidates that are looking to gain an employment opportunity here in New Zealand. They have experience and qualifications that make them suitable for jobs here. We interview them and gain copies of their credentials to assist them to find an employer. At the same time we work with employers that are unable to find suitable candidates within New Zealand. We identify the elements of the job offer and present candidates that we think will fit, we then let those employers decide who they wish to go with. Once both employer and employee are engaged, we ensure everything is correct to meet immigration requirements and push forward with the visa application for the candidate to work for the specific employer. We are dependant on a government body at this point and do all within our power to ensure an efficient process continues while the application is out of our hands.
Once an approved visa is gained, we facilitate the OEC process and arrange deployment to meet both parties. On arrival in New Zealand we ensure to meet candidates at the airport, bring them to Hamilton so that they can meet our team at head office and undergo their induction. We set up bank accounts and apply for IRD numbers then arrange transport to the place of employment. Where possible we like to deliver new staff to the employers in person - ensuring that both employers and employees are feeling happy and settled.
Our service doesn’t stop here, we have a team of dedicated staff including our pastoral care guys that are responsible for ensuring our new arrivals are settling in well to their new working environment. We do anything from assisting to get internet setup, to helping your new staff member purchase their first car. It is important to us that over the first few months at least, we make regular contact with both employer and employee to ensure everything is going to plan. We take a proactive approach to any issues that might occur and ensure a suitable solution.
Together Cross Country Recruitment Ltd, Bison Management Corporation and other parties such as the POEA and Immigration NZ facilitate generation and preservation of decent jobs for Filipino migrant workers with great employers in New Zealand, whilst providing protection and support for employees and employers.
