Job Description

• Prepare subgrade ready for concrete to specified depths and grades
• Prepare and set boxing to hold concrete in place including measurements, heights &levels.
• Steel mesh placement and/or reinforcing steel fixing.
• Manage concrete delivery and timing.
• Pour, smooth, and level concrete using a rake, trowel, float, and screed; this includes handheld tools and power tool versions.
• Manage effects of the weather on the curing process.
• Apply sealing and hardening components which are required to achieve the correct finish if necessary.
• Select and operate power vibrator to ensure the concrete is compacted.
• Mould and construct expansion joints using joiners and edging tools.
• Cut expansion joints with appropriate power tools to specifications
• When not undertaking works associated with concrete the employee will be allocated job tasks within the company’s scope of contract works, that being Civil Construction.
